my 255WT is not great
in oregon it didnt have the streets that were at least 25 years old and also thought I was driving 1/4 mile off the freeway, parallel to it, through fields at 60mph! it kept telling me to get back on the freeway.
it loses the satellite signal too much.
the traffic is not too accurate either
I am so annoyed I just bought an old mio c310 off ebay. it will be nice to have the speed limit warning again
I directed a non techie family member to the 205w, and it works like a charm here in Georgia. It's basic, no TTS, but it's easy enough for him to use ($110 at newegg). Looks like this is the same as the 255w but with bluetooth, good price too if you want more routing features over the entry level units.
#1 Have you updated your maps? Traffic sucks on most GPS units too, I can't think of any I haven't heard complaints about.
#2, yes I did my one free update in february. I cannot verify that it made it worse because I didn't use it much(or in oregon) before the update.
