Too bad it doesn't have the speed warning feature. I might have to go with navigon for that. other than that the nuvis are nice (and I think xx5 models do show speed limits)

Yea, this does show speed limit. By speed warning I assume you mean it alerts you if you go too fast?

Honestly, any half decent driver should be able to monitor their speed without having a device do it for them.

      Cruise control, ftw!! Wink

Good price on this, previously the best price I saw (for a new model) was $210.

I almost bought one of these, but then decided I didn't really need the traffic feature, and instead got the nuvi 855, for $220 at Amazon.

#3, this has been lower than $210 at Amazon for weeks now.

#2 I know what speed I am driving and with cruise control it is easy to keep it steady. however it is VERY hard for me to find out what the speed limit is. There seems to be no requirement for a speed limit sign every 5 or even 50 miles where I am. Since a speeding ticket for going 65 on the highway can be $190, I REQUIRE the speed warning function for any GPS I buy.
they already program them with the placement of the road and road names. that they do not put the speed limit of the interstate and set up a warning when you exceed it seems dumb. I know it is possible since my old mio c310 did it and it was amazingly accurate even for speed traps.
If garmin brought back this feature then I would buy because otherwise they are very nice.

spoke to garmin yesterday since i could not get a good understanding of all their models. this is a great model, has blue tooth speaker phone... but if you need to make multiple stops, e delivery person then this is not for you. the 765t can have multiple locations loaded then give you the best route.

the 1490t is the newest model above the 765t which is slimmer.

yeah, i know this is a 265wt btu i am giving my .02 about if someone needed something more.

Grumpydog, this device does show speed limit. I own it, it pops up in the corner with the speed limit of the road you're on.

#8, does it show speed limits for many roads of just the interstate or main highways? although it would only be helpful If I get in the habit of glancing at it often, it would be better than nothing or my tomtom POS. thx

Well, I live in a city...and it shows them for all roads (Boston). I don't know if every single road around the country is covered or not, but so far almost every road I've been on in Boston and the surrounding towns between here and NYC has had the MPH.

How are these compared to the TomToms?
