My brother has this unit, but he is phasing it out. Nice unit but mapping is old, has an antenna of sorts, and is slow - compared to today's models. The better deals for a gps are out there. This is a deal @ $39.99.
I paid 350$ about a year ago but some1 broke into my car yesterday and took the gps, friction mount (extra 30$) and a big box of Post Honey Nuts with almonds cereal box that was in the trunk. I suspect it's the people next door, they have been acting very suspiciously since giving me an awkward eye. I bought the gps coz I always got lost but now I'm screwed.
Yeah, the antenna has become weak over time, used to take a lot quicker to find the satellite, not anymore it takes like a min which is kinda forever. The map is old and it costs like 100$ to upgrade.
Why would anyone buy this at this price? This is a 4 year old + model... But it does use a standard mini-usb for charging which is nice. The newer ones use something else I think.
Great deal IF it wasn't a refurb. Lots of reasons to get this over the newer models - this one is smaller, comes with both a car charger and wall AC charger, takes a standard mini-SD card instead of the slightly pricier micro-SD, has 700MB memory instead of the 96MB that comes with most units now, etc. Yes the maps are old but I've upgraded maps numerous times on my Garmins and there is very rarely a noticeable difference after upgrade....most "new" roads still aren't in the updates.
To the rodeo cowboy that said this one is slower than today's units, you're a moron. I have this one, a Nuvi 780, and a Nuvi 765 and they're all exactly the same "speed" as far as mapping and things like that. Sattelite lock is still variable in all of them...sometimes they take just seconds, other times up to a minute or so.
For Sale: Nuvi 350 (1 year old) and friction mount (est. $30). If you buy today, I will throw in a box of Post Honey Nuts w/Almonds.

#6, LOL!
Why would Ben call this a "Pocket or Vehicle" GPS. Is he saying that you can use this while taking a stroll? It's really not suitable for that.
I have the Garmin 650, and it works pretty good, but at times it likes to send you on a wild goose chase. And that flibaconp antenna is annoying. New units have 'em inside.
Edit: Wow! Why would Ben's filters change the words "flip" and 'up" to "flibaconp."? Stupid.
I have this model, a nuvi 200 and a nuvi 265WT. They are all about the same speed.
I actually like this one a lot. The antenna acts like a built-in kick-stand. I can rest it on the seat next to me and it's tilted up enough that I can see the screen if necessary (usually just listen to its directions though).
This has one great feature the others don't - it lets you see a color-coded satellite constellation map, so you can see it locking on to the sats. Cool.
