Great GPS - one of the best! Excellent customer service as well. Seriously sucky windshield mount. Expect the mount to fail.

This is great GPS. I had a Magellan Maestro (forgot the number), constantly locked up especially if I had to detour. I've seen TomTom units from my friends..., not that impressive, though it works. But this unit really works fast. Never locked on me and if I had to detour, it recalculates really fast and does not nagging me to make u-turn. I had no complain as I got this one about two months ago with $360... but now I regret that as with this $300 price. I thought it would never be available this low.

Question for #2, did they send the identical mount or different mount than that comes with package? Was it free?

yea, i have the 360 and love it but HATE the mount--i'd be interested to know if they provided a free one, and if it was the same model

I found the mount to be adequate. Took a while to figure it out but after that no problems. Maybe others are better, can't say, I haven't used them. I wouldn't down rate this because of the mount.

the windshield mount is illegal in california (maybe in other states as well). of course, not that many cops will give ticket for that, I hope.

In reply to nghialy, I found this comment on the amazon website:

It's important to note that you are ENTITLED to any updates that have been made up until your date of purchase. What does this mean?

If you buy a unit loaded with v7.0 of the maps, you can request an update from Garmin to the current edition v8.5 free of charge. In the future, however, you have to pay a regular (and somewhat sizable) fee per year to update the maps. Go to Garmin.com and product support for details.

Get the bean bag for placing your GPS at the dashboard. It is the best way and love it so much easier than suction model.

I think V.7 is just bad cloning on Bens part. Ritz says shipped from Garmin to them, so they should be latest maps. Worried that this is a price mistake or a refurb although Ritz site says new. Taking a chance, just bought it as I am friggin sick of wasting my time looking for a GPS every day. This seems to be the best out there for the money, I can't see it going lower than $299.99 for a while.

I just clicked on the link and it says 499.99 now. No more 299.99. But seems like if you add to cart, it is still 299.99. Buy it fast if interested.

I bought one on Sunday. The deal should be good IN STORE until the 15th. They are sending me the map upgrade free after I registered the unit on their web site.
This is my second 350. I bought one for each car. The windshield mount was too good (about a year ago). I couldn't get it to release. It adhered to the glass and I had to remove it with a scraper. Garmin sent me another mount free. Same style but different material in the suction cup. It works great.
