Ends 11/15 at 8AM PT. eBay with Yummy Electronics has the refurbished Garmin nuvi 3750 4.3" Portable GPS Navigator for $120 with free shipping. Includes the Garmin Friction Mount. Features a thin profile less than 9-mm thick, multi-touch glass display, turn-by-turn directions, lane assist with junction view and pre-loaded maps of North America.
Got the 3450 at BB last week for $23.80. The thin form factor is nice. Not quite as intuitive in operation as TomTom and Magellan, but easy enough to use. Only female TTS voice. Fast satellite acquisition and route calculation. Some mild routing quirks detected already but nothing serious. They all seem to have something in this regard.
I got this a while back - it's my 6th garmin unit. I'd rank it probably 2nd-to-last among the bunch. The worst one was a model that flat out couldn't be turned off so it always had to be connected to power if you didn't want a dead battery the next day. This model here is almost as bad - you can turn it off but you'll end up with a dead battery in 3 or 4 weeks of it sitting with no use. Worse yet, this model has TERRIBLE sat lock-on times compared to my other models. This one routinely takes 10 to 20 (TWENTY!) minutes before it gets sat reception. Would definitely not buy this model again - its only saving grace is mas of the entire North America rather than just US. Also, most of Garmin's cheaper models that are fatter feature a rubberized back to them so you can set them down in the car without them flying all over. This one is smooth metal/plastic. May not be a concern for many but still something to consider. On the bright side its thin size makes the windshield mount more successful in actually staying mounted.
