Seems an awful lot to spend on a refurb netbook with a defunct OS.
this could be a deal depending on that cpu
Waiting for them to put HDMI output on these things... anyone use a netbook as a multimedia PC?
#3 look at the Acer Aspire AS1410-2285 (or the gateway model). Comes with an Intel dual core 1.2 Ghz CPU (SU2300), and has a HDMI out. Even plays the sound over the HDMI. The 1.2 Ghz dual core CPU is about 2.5 x as fast as the atom, plus this has better video. Retails around $399.
I pluged mine into a 1080p TV, and played a standard DVD (from an ISO on the hard drive drive), and it only used about 30% CPU to upscale to 1080p. Also streams HULU and Netflix no problem.
