      Well these have garnered some descent reviews, and at this price most of the criticism of price is now mute. Sure not a perfect gaming panel, won't permit 1080p, and only one year warranty (maybe $45 for CC 2 yr extend warranty) but for most it is a whole lot of acreage. I didn't delve into their "EZ Trade-in program but, if you're finally dumping that 19” CRT, it might be worth a look into, considering an extra little bit in a gift card might get some nice speaker to go with.

      I'm doing work on this monitor right now. We bought it from compusa last summer for around 600. It is an excellent monitor. The only thing I don't like about it, is that it takes a while to sense inputs, and when you do switch inputs, a rectangle about 2x4" stays on the screen saying "DVI" for a ridiculously long time.

      #3, the listing on CC's page says that it supports HDCP, but I'm not sure how it does this without an HDMI input.

      @casecutter

      "which is not as eleigant in the suround and most complain it very bright.. "

      It is hard to say what you mean in the first clause of your sentence. Assuming that you misspelled elegant and surround, it still doesn't make any sense.

      Re: that "most complain that very bright" -- most LCD monitors, like all of them, come with adjustments to turn the brightness up and down. It is a button that has a little picture of the sun on it. Additionally, you are display adapter has drivers/software that also allows you to adjust brightness. Finally, many display programs, such as Windows media player, MPC, VLC, etc. have this ability. Worse comes to worse, adjust ambient lighting.

      @da5id1

      I actually have this monitor, I got it back last summer from CompUSA, and it has to be the brightest monitor I've ever used. I have the setting on the monitor turned all the way down, and that's still the case. As you suggest, I did do some adjustments from the control panel, and that was enough for me.

      The real reason I picked this monitor was because of array of inputs it has. I figured if I was going to get a monitor this big, I'd like to be able to use it as a tv too, and with all those inputs, I can.

      da5id1 -- Yes that was on of those off the cuff, quickie ones after checking things on the SOYO deal.
      Excuses me..

      I meant the bezel or surround of the SOYO is larger and bulkier than other panels in its' class. Secondly, some panels have excessive back lighting, which to a point can be controlled with a simple brightness adjustment. Although, in the case of the SOYO it causes the rest of your pixels to loose their vibrance in the color pallet.
      So, stop correcting me and become a teacher, or read up on this crap yourself before shooting your mouth off.
      I'd would rather have Todd, Mofo, or WTF retorts than your BS...
      Shalom

      This monitor is good but has a few limitations:
      Watching Blu-ray movies at 1080p from PS3 (using HDMI to DVI cable) and Xbox 360 HD DVD though VGA don't have the best contrast. It shows darker tone too dark. I also have the Dell 2405 which is able to play the same movie at much better tone using component video.

      The Gateway monitor also has a bug where if it receives 720p input from PS3 games, it gets stuck at 720p after I quit the game. I have to power cycle the monitor unstuck it from 720p. I e-mailed Gateway tech support but they are clueless about the problem.

      Connecting Wii component video to this monitor looks very washout color on Component Video input 2. Component Video input 1 looks slightly better but still too washout colors.

      The component video input doesn't show the 1080i HD DVD movies from Toshiba A3 HD DVD playedr as sharp as my Dell 2405.

      Believe me, I have tried all kinds of calibrating with this monitor but I cannot get it to show the colors as good as my Dell 2405.

      Over all it's a decent monitor with a lot of video inputs with HDCP support.
