Can anyone explain to me why you would pay that much for a reduced power netbook when you can pay the same for a nice more powerful laptop with a CD/DVD writer? Just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

      Sounds like a ripoff really.

Microsoft Store had it for $200, I got one for $200, using it right now to post this comment, works great, I like it.

#1, someone likes a light weight, small size laptop with just enough power to run browser, office, video, etc. Freq(Mhz) is not the measure of power. This is not an Atom CPU.

#1, where can you get a "nice more powerful laptop with a CD/DVD writer" for $350? Most entry level mainstream laptops are in the $450-$500 range.

Like #3 said, you pay extra and accept lowered specs for the portability. For surfing the net and doing office work this would be more than enough for most people. 90% of the time you never use your optical drive so not having one of those isn't that big of a deal.

Yeah and try opening up one of those "powerful laptops" on a plane sit tray.

i think the specs on this isnt bad at all. and netbooks give you portability they are not designed for high performance.
