This seems like a pretty good. I saw a similar Gateway at Bestbuy for $1250 in November. This one has better specs and is a lot cheaper.

Just picked one up earlier in the week... Really bright screen and very fast for gaming... So far was playing World of Warcraft on it with all high settings with so problems... Only bad part was I wished it would've came with a wipe cloth... Sheesh

      1366 x 768 is pitiful for a 17" laptop.

If this were a WUXGA (1920 x 1200) it would be a good deal.

Just checked Gateway's site, it is a 1440 x 900 WXGA widescreen display which still sucks. Definitely not WUXGA like my Vostro 1700 though all other specs surpass my Vostro. The screen still kills the deal.

#5 - The first batches were indeed WUXGA, but the new shipments are regrettably WXGA (Max 1440x900).

      4gb of DDR3, a 1gb 9800, and a 320 7200 HDD still make this a decent buy for 1050.

nice video card for this laptop. My 17" Vostro only has the 8600gs but has a better Screen and 5 USB ports instead of just 3, and I still had to get another 7 port usb hub though.
