I would go for the 2ghz athlon X2 ( Compaq CQ50) instead, it pops up quite frequently at bustbuy for $399

Golden: Not a bad deal...A little anemic on the hard drive and the wireless is (only) a/g...No 'n'....
Gateway used to have crap quality, I don't know if they've improved in the past few years though
Nothing has changed, the only thing they made of decent quality of late was the speaker bar for their 24" lcds.
