Amazon has the Gerber 31-002289 Bear Grylls Parang Machete for $30 with free shipping. Priced around $34 and up through the web. Crafted with robust high carbon angled steel blade, full tang construction, and ergonomic textured rubber grip.
HarborFreight also periodically sells 18" Machetes for around $5 too. If you have a store near you, that might be a better deal... if you're looking to "take care of business," that is
This one actually has a decent blade. Cut through some overgrowth and my couch like butter. Some of those $5 machetes you might as well put a handle on a lawnmower blade.
Ironic, I often attack my couch with a machete too.
Have to disagree about lawn mower blades though, due to safety issues having to actually cut constantly and deal with rocks/etc without being destroyed, they usually use better metal than you'd find on a $5 HF machete.
Then again, someone who is cutting paths through fields regularly, or cutting something thicker, will want something both longer than the Gerber and higher quality than the HF. The following site has a few that are longer and middling quality at reasonable prices. You'll have to copy and past the link text, "Cial1s" breaks it.

I just saw this at Academy for 70 bucks
Looks cool, kind of what I would expect Ali Baba and the 40 theives to wave as they chased me.
