too bad its OOS - this is great card for a HTPC! Allows you to offload video processing from the CPU for jitter free 1080p display.

#2: true, although it does have a fan. It would be nicer with a passive cooler.

Other than that it does have the half-height bracket included, a HDMI output, onboard surround sound for HDMI output, and the HD video acceleration.

Passive has its' place and can be nice, however a Slim-line OEM case like the one just listed makes it a tough call.

That setup has only one VGA connector, no DVI-D to complement the monitor. While Dell pushes HDMI and Blueray, all that's optional when you add 3450 256MB for $60. And that might be all the PSU can support. The 4530 has shown to draw more power than the 3450 by an ever slight margin, while the extra clock speed of this probably consuming even a little more.

With minimal air flow such cases can provide for passively cooled, like the 3450 as they are less prone to push off the heat compared to this clock-up 4350. Passive cards aren't always the smarter way to go unless you're willing to add an extra fan if latter required. Even with that there's noise and cost of a qualty low noise (80mm or small) fan. Face it such chassis won't provide for 120mm fan or sometimes no add on fan mount. What's worse a slot fan cooler have you ever heard one of those... While most Eggviews say this fan isn't all that bad a fairly low rpm whoosh.

This is why this has the fan... it's the quick not brainer up-grade that provides all the connections, while being is slightly more performance than what most OEM IGP provide and all that is had for $15 not $60.

just seal and fill the case with mineral oil; simple and no other cooling device necessary.

You need to find a way to show inflection or something similar in your Oinks, because we can't tell whehter you are condemning or endorsing this product. But based on how many times you have responded to ATI products, I think it safe to assume that you think them absolutely fabulous and give them your highest recommendation. ATI thanks you for your lustful endorsement.

I saw your picture in the off topic forum. DAMN YOU ARE FAT!

Perhaps you should stop worrying about computer parts and start concentrating on losing weight.

Hmm, extrapolating from his past posts, and accounting for the enthusiasm of this Oink, I think here he's trying to say something like:

ATI makes the best video cards EVER!

    GO ATI!
