I am looking for a new set of knife... how are these? Anyone know? Thanks in advance.

You can do a lot worse for $3 a knife, but a lot better for more than $3 a knife. I don't own them but avg quality sets can't be had for $25. 'egg has a good return policy, if you're going to try them they are as good a place as any.

In the past I've received full refunds (on different products) from 'egg w/o any restock fee just by telling them the reason for return was the product is junk, not defective, and therefore I can't accept a replacement of same thing... though you have to call in to get that restock fee taken off the account and YMMV, for all I know they might look at # of returns on an account and mine had a low return-rate:purchase ratio.

I don't have this exact set, but I have a similar set (has a black base instead of the wooden looking one but from what I can tell, the knives look the exact same). Its an OK set for basic use. If you actually cook a lot, I'd probably look for a better set. The only actual complaints I have were that the scissors feel WAY cheap and the blade of one of the steak my knives was a bit loose, maybe it was just a defective. Like #2 said, you can do worse, but you can probably do better.

Just get a good set of Henckels or Wusthof on clearance at Macy's.
