This would be a step up from the concrete blocks the Walmarters typically use. What am I thinking they use the blocks to get the couch off the floor. Exercise? Maybe walking to the fridge..
Everybody who is thinking of these, spend a little more for the rubberized weight set from the Sports Authority. They won't mar your floor, have an excellent metal grip (not cheap tube steel), and feel really well made.
All these things are important to me -- I'm lazy, so when I exercise the things I use have to feel high-quality, else I lose inspiration.

Home depot has a set that's cheaper but doesn't look as nice.

@ #4: A little more? How much more are you thinking? And I don't see a 40lb that is rubberized.
