whenever i go to some chicks house when her husband is out of town and i see one of these, i make it a point to bend her over that preacher curl pad for doggystyle and then later asphyxiate her with the leg curl attachment as she screams in ecstasy. of course i save the money shot for the upper part of the bench pad, so when hubby comes back home and vents his sexual frustration by pushing a measly 95lbs he'll get up later with my dried splooge stuck to the back of his head

So, given this discussion, is this worth a buy or a pass?

It's good if all you need is a bench press. If you're serious and you don't have a spot, then opt for the kind that has a track, whatever they are called, with the safety catches.

If you're serious then you got at very least 2x45 pound plates on either end of the bar for bench press. This thing would tip over with that much weight.

LOL @ #10. 225 lbs is "serious"? ROFLMFAO! 225 is a warm up set for a "serious" lifter. Though, I rather doubt 99% of the monkeys that post here could put it up 1 time.

The only weight # 9 lifts is his gullet when he puts on his size 52 pants.

I actually tested out at 225lb bench press for 21 reps straight at a body weight of 200 lbs.

For those of you geeks who don't follow the NFL, 225 lbs is the weight used for the NFL combine strength test.

My max bench was 380 in college. My deadlift was about 515 lbs. I had somewhat of a weak squat, at 445lbs.

Any of you punks even come close to this weight?

Actually, it is very impressive. Look up some strength to weight ratio's in this article:

    http://www.criticalbench.com/bench-press-combine.htm

The press corresponds with my maximum weight of 380 lbs.

Very few normal men can even bench press their own weight.

bacon, since you claim to be a former Marine, what is your best bench press?

Wand, I won't even bother asking, you are a weak minded fool.

#17, even some of the figures you linked are probably higher than the real average, considering they were people who actually have some weights or go to a gym to know, or read Men's Health, etc. so they were already more concerned than the average person with health & fitness. Take the survey at an office building or McDonalds and you might find quite different stats.
