Long-suffering iOS 6 users, it is finally here... iTunes Store has Google Maps (iOS 5.1+) for $0 downloaded. Now with voice guided turn-by-turn navigation. Google Maps also has accurate directions, if you're into that sort of thing.

The only time I've had a problem with iPhone Maps taking me to the wrong address, I switched to the Google Maps website and it directed me to the same wrong address. The address was "1150 South StreetName" and both kept taking me to "1150 North StreetName". (Names changed to protect the innocent) Let's see if the Google Maps App does any better.

1st why the hell is this on this site??? Should air be put on here as well? Free air for breathing!

2nd this is obviously a inferior product and should never be used. If the savior of humanity and god incarnate Steve Jobs did not invent/design it, it is not worth having!

    Merry SteveJobs-mas!

Heh. Don't offer something free to iOwners or else they'll get upset that they don't have to pay for it.

Steve Jobs has not yet risen from the dead, and so we must carry on with imperfect creations put forth by mere mortals.

Google could have charged $4.99 for this app and all my friends would buy it. This doesn't make sense, why would Apple file for divorce only to have Google come back and give it for free. Unless Google Maps will have massive ads and redirect every iPhone user to their nearest sponsor.

Your second statement is probably correct. Google would much rather gather data from every Iphone user, and serve them ads, than to worry about getting people to adopt Android over IOS. They're already wining the smartphone OS war if you go by recent numbers. It's a win-win for users since Google is pretty good with bringing value with their ad supported offerings while keeping the ads reasonably non-intrusive.

iPhone users, when your significant other tells you to get lost, upgrade to iOS 6.

I just read the fine print for my iphone warranty, and apparently installing anything that was free voids the warranty.
