Are you implying the SD card will go inside the Nexus? Don't you know that a tablet is Too Small to fit a microSD port?

Stop listening to the spin from both sides. Take it from a utilitarian fella like me ... on a absolute practicality / usability / security scale ... the IOS platform is significantly superior. The quality of the apps are several magnitudes superior. I hate the Ford vs. Chevy attutude. I could care less about Apple (I am a linux analyst) ... but the end of the day ... productivity is what counts ... *NOT* how slick the "Launcher" on your device looks.

Buy a used iPad2 or iPad3 ... I have never regretted my purchase. I don't own a Mac (limited flexibility for what I need) ... but the tablet experience on an iPad is leaps above any other tablet.

I'm loving mine. The microSD card will surely come in handy in another application or you can always get a OTG cable and a card reader and put it to use with the N7.

BTW, what are these awesome, I just can't live without, apps that the Apple fans keep touting? The core apps are covered pretty well in both platforms. If you're referring to games then I'd rather play those on a PC or console box any day of the week. You don't have to spend Apple money to browse the net or read an ebook. ...but you can if you want to. For me the cost of the latest gen iPad was excessive and the resolution of the iPad2 was annoyingly poor when reading ebooks. The 216 PPI of the N7 is acceptable for me and the price is great. I was worried that the 7" form factor was going to be too small but I've grown to like it and appreciate not having to hold a heavier device for book reading durations of time.

      Peace

The tablet does not have a port for an SD card, not because it is too small (lots of phones have them) but because it does not perform as well as having more internal storage that can have much faster transfer rates. The file system also comes into play but that is a whole discussion of its own.

This tablet is a great machine and at this price with a SD card, a great buy. I'll be picking one up.

Sure, you could get an used iPad for this price...but it will have half the storage...and is used. There are plenty of applications available for Android, they do not lack "quality" (most are the same between iOS and Android), and Android development is heavily growing compared to iOS now. 75% of the mobile devices sold this last quarter were Android based.

You can hook up a mouse and keyboard to this device out of the box with a OTG adapter and use this like a desktop.

The 7" size also allows it to be very easy to use in the car or port around wherever you are.

I don't play games on my IOS device. I use apps like GoodReader, Dragon Dictate, Note Taker HD ... the fact is that even on the old iPad the response to touch and multi-touch is near-instant ... which I did not get from the Android Tablets I tried. And no I am not an Apple fan ... I am just being realistic ... if Google offers the same kind of SDK support that Apple does ... developers will swarm to Android. Until then ...

this tablet is in the ipad mini segment - not ipad. Ipad mini - for the price is an epic fail for apple. I bought one - returned it. Resolution isnt what it should be. Apple get real with the amount of money you are asking for that device. The lemming apple fanboys will flock to the mini - of course. By the way - I have 2 imac's - 2 iPads - mac book pro etc. I like the technology. Not in this segment as apple doesnt have an affordable solution. Go with the nexus OR the samsung... and save yourself a ton. Why? Why invest double teh price in an idevice - only for it to rev next year and get so much better. If it does and you like it - buy it then. For now - lean and mean with this price and a quality product..
