AT&T Wireless is offering several refurbished GoPhone Pay As You Go phones for
$10 (based on ZIP code) with free shipping. No annual contract required. The pictured Nokia 2610 GoPhone is $10 with free shipping, and includes most goodies you'd want in a phone.
Pantech C120 - GoPhone (Pay As You Go) with VGA camera = $10
LG CG180 - GoPhone (Pay As You Go) phone $40 - $25 rebate = $15
Samsung A437 Quad-Band World GoPhone (Unlockable) = $40
What is the monthly and per minute charge? This is how they get you.
It is a nice if you need it.
the 10$ card is good for one month, 0.25$ a minute use.
#2
Or, you can opt to pay $1 for every day you use your phone and the per minute cost drops to $0.10
so... if you're going to use your phone for more than 7 minutes in a day, you're better off with the second option...
7 x $0.25 = $1.75
$1 + (7 x $0.10) = $1.70
Also, once you pay the dollar for the day of use of the phone, you get unlimited free calls to other AT&T users.
If you're regularly going to use your phone for more than seven minutes a day, you'd probably be better off with a contract plan. Or you could try T-Mobile's prepaid service, if they have coverage in your area. Buy a $100 refill card, which is good for a year, and you get 1,000 minutes. That makes your cost 10 cents a minute - less if you buy the refill card at a discount on eBay - and there's no daily fee to worry about.
Because both AT&T and T-Mobile use GSM, you can purchase a phone from AT&T, unlock it, buy a cheap T-Mo SIM card on eBay and leave AT&T after you've gotten your rebate and used up your initial minutes. Aside from the fact that AT&T is more expensive, they're also ranked very low in surveys of customer satisfaction, and I can personally attest to their rottenness.
