Iphone blows when it comes to GPS. This app doesn't even give you turn-by-turn navigation unless you pay rent. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/gps-by-telenav/id414817704?mt=8

Android has 4 free GPS apps but the free google maps nav is good enough. I'll take that over gimmicky voice recognition, that's fun to demo but mostly useless, any day.

I agree with techsupport. I miss my android just for Google Navigation. I used the Mapquest app for iPhone this week and took a 1 hour detour. The iPhone almost went flying out the window.

Amaze GPS is free too, not sure what platforms it covers though.

I would suggest to check out Waze in the app store (also on Android). It is a very cool GPS app that allows the user to report accidents, police speed traps, construction areas, etc. I use it all the time with no issues.
