No, it's not. You can pick up a real guitar and play it in the same place where you'd play these games, and unlike these games, being able to play guitar is a skill worth having.

#17, I can pick up Guitar Hero and play it right away. It takes much longer to learn to play a real guitar. I don't have time in my life to learn how to play a real guitar. And, I don't see how it is a skill worth having. It's not like there's that much money to be made off of it. I'm not going to start a band or teach anyone else guitar. I can play the piano and the trumpet...none of which I have the opportunity to do. I have friends that play instruments as well. None of those friends want to come over, hang out, and play music together. They do want to come over, get drunk, and play Rock Band.

To the retards who say, "Play a real guitar":

This is a guitar game. A video game. By the same token do you say,"Go drive a real racing car", "Go fly a real F-16", or, "Go fight in a real war" to people who play other types of games?

This game does not simulate or replace a real guitar, just as a PS3 can't replace a real car.

Btw, the skill it takes to play this game does not even relate to the skill of playing a guitar. They are completely different. The only things they have in common are the word "Guitar" and the controller's shape.

Get World Tour. Aerosmith wasn't any good..bacon least if you play on expert. About two songs with any challenge at all. Besides, World Tour comes with a better guitar.
