Got a Haan steamer, but not this dual one. Steam is not meant for carpets and does not clean them. The steam will fluff the fibers if the carpet is not filled with dirt. Steam is mostly for non-wood floors as if not careful it will damage the wood. Having said all this, it does a decedent job for a quick, sanitary clean of the kitchen instead of a Swifter.
