#1: you aren't missing anything. Just stop by your local Harbor Freight and pick up a fiberglass handle hammer for less than half this.

i second harbor freight hammers. regularly 2.99 and they are pretty damn good
Harbor freight gives you a warranty period, so if you break it you can exchange over and over up to 3 times. Save you receipts and happy buying!
Besides if you are using your hammer to "fix" you computer then I would now worry about breaking it. But it breaks, you can always run your truck over the computer which might be more efficient.
If I used hammer's that much I'd doubt I'd have time or money to post this.
