Hmm. Only 1080i and playback on PC only. Who needs that...

The design intent is to allow people to "steal" the HD content (albeit 1080i/720p) from cable or satellite through the component outputs on their decoder boxes and record it on their PC's. Probably people that are slightly more creative...

I use mine with a WHS/SageTV setup to capture and stream my Dish HD receiver, effectively giving me HD Dish at every TV along with DVR capability.
