    #2, assuming the design is remotely accurate, it should indeed improve transmit and receive. The amount of gain depends entirely on the size of the dish and the accuracy of its parabola.

    Got one of these a month ago. Wanted to surf the net a lunch from my car near restaraunts that offered free WiFi. Have a Linksys 300N card in my laptop and was getting about a 12% connection from about 50 yards away with just the card. Now with this dish I'm getting about a 30%-50% connection.

    Really happy with it. Get a USB extension so you can get the dish up higher. The difference between signals with it on my dashboard and up on the roof of the van can be 10% or more.

    FYI, Amazon has it for $37.99 after rebate. Way cheaper than Buy.com.
