Barnes & Noble is joining in on the HD-DVD abandoning bandwagon, with a page of HD-DVDs marked 50% off. Many titles are then $13.49 - extra 25% off with coupon code Y4R4K7D = $11.25, with free shipping on $25 orders. Titles include Elizabeth, Apollo 13, Shaun of the Dead, Pride & Prejudice, The 40 Year-Old Virgin, and many more.

Very nice...tax hurts a bit, but these are pretty close to as good as it gets.

Owning both formats rules. I laugh at Blu-Ray only owners who will have to pay two or three times as much for the same films in identical quality...when they come out on that format 18 months from now.

And don't forget to pick up my films "Billy Madison" and "Happy Gilmore" on HD DVD.

Is watching "The 40 Year-Old Virgin" and "Elizabeth" all that worth it in HD? I would think DVD quality is enough.

Is the promise of high definition enough that you would want to watch any of the titles listed in HD? It is all very laughable really.

This is the death of HD-DVD right here, when they say CLEARANCE SALE, they are trying to move this dog format out.

    Long Live Blu Ray - **** HD-DVD.

Man, I'm getting so sick of all the crap some morons write about. There is no "war". It's just about a couple of corporations that want to make a quick buck, that's all. Both formats are great and both will be around for a long long time. Sales will come and go and prices will drop. In fact, I have seen some good deals on blue ray lately. Is that a clearance sale as well? Just buy what you can afford right now and be happy.

Long Live Blu Ray BD+ DRM!

I love buying the right to use and not to own. Who needs anything more than profile 1.0 BD players anyway and they are so bug free with the coolest menus.

Prices will have to drop on the players themselves before a sale on the movies will tempt me

    HD-DVD abandoning bandwagon? WTF! Shocked

Ben if you are a Blu-Ray fanboy then why you post deals for HD-DVD?

Just post a deal without these abandoning crap or just be a Blu-Rape fanboy and stop making money from HD-DVD deals!

#15 - prices will have to drop? 130 for an HD-A3 hd-dvd player from amazon +7 free hd-dvds is too much for a new format player? How do you afford normal dvds? they are much more expensive than what these are going for.

Amazing deal, especially if you are a member of B&N.
