ATI is killing NV in the "bang for buck" card market. And NV is hurting right now (was it 60% drop in card sales?). Great card for the money, but as posted, very noisy.

#5 what? I heard these are pretty damn quiet. This is amazing, NV is going way down for it.

Look for the MSI 4890 card, the coupon code works on it... plus $20 rebate - same price, faster out of the box.

#5 -- Reading through the 23 Eggview for this particular HIS model, I find most complain about the initial fan rambaconp on boot, which isn't the worst I find it as self-diagnostics. One is saying any setting above 50% and it works like a Hover, but does aid in cooling so there's a trade-off. Most say it isn't noisy when at default and when stressed it only starts to make itself evident, but during actual gaming does is matter?
This is a gaming card and as such no one should intend this be in some 24/7, emailing, web-browsing, facebook, you tube, college report writing machine. It will be in a rig that's only pulling watts when gaming, that is when you are going to sit-down and frag with speakers pounding for several hours.
And here's a Review of a Turbo model (900Mhz) but appear to be the same cooler and they didn't say anything either way.

It's being said that the MSI 4890 @ Ewiz works with the coupon also... so the same deal. Me, I'd go for the MSI unit; HIS has a lack of customer support as of lately and my dealing with MSI have always gone satisfactorily.

Here another round up of 4890 from the Canadian's and their issue with the HIS Turbo card…
