Excellent fast drive, no reports of dying like the WD's or seagates and a great price $0.07/gb.

Yeah, too many platters for long term confidence, especially when you can get 1TB for not much more than $70.

    1tb for $70 x 2 = 2tb for $140... what's the problem?

And having 5 platters can be a benefit..

#5 - less head movement... more of the data resides in the fastest rotational/data access area.

    Ex: 1 platter = full stroke start/end

Where did this illusion of more platters = less reliable come from anyway? Most enterprise scsi drives have always been multiple smaller platters vs single platter.

I think, if you'll check, that five platters make for a hotter drive and if you've noticed, the manufacturers have lowered their highest temp rate over the last few years, e, current drives can't handle the heat that drives five years ago could.

I don't know why Ben can't fix his software. That "e" was the abbreviation for "id est" or "that is." Let's see if it will do it right if I type it alone.
