I remember paying $500 for a one GB drive when they first came out. At the time, I was in graduate school and I remember one of the professors gushing at how inexpensive one GB storage had become.
#4: I had a Samsung F1 drive fail just last week. So, now I'm using a Hitachi I had been using for backup.
The failure rates for all the major hard drive companies are almost exactly the same, apart from a few certain problem models(like the Seagate 1.5tb 7200.11 drive before the Bios was fixed).
It's kind of funny actually. Whenever someone has a hard drive fail, they advise everyone else to not buy that brand. But, there are people complaining about every hard drive brand.
Hard drives fail. Just be sure you back up your data.
Mixed reviews on the egg...any comments on this drive?
