    nismosd, I believe you misread the description. The name of this drive is "Deskstar". Deathstar was that big round thing in star wars that blew up planets with a giant laser. Also an IBM(note, not Hitachi) hard drive from several years back that had a rather high failure rate.

    Deathstar was a nickname for a couple drive lines made by IBM before Hitachi bought their HDD division. It was unique in using glass platters then they eventually realized that wasn't such a good idea when the heads crashed and ground off the magnetic surface on a large % of them.
