I bought this, haven't started using it yet, the one i got from newegg was made in dec 2k7, which means my warranty expires in 2k11. It's possible zipzoomfly has older stock due to it being a less popular store.
Also this is supposedly a low power consumption drive which explains the low speed.

I got this from New Egg for $55 AR (seems all the stuff I buy lately is from them...good Etailer). It seems quite reliable..bacon's very quiet. It seems to run a bit hot, but other than that, no complaints so far.
If you want a 500+ GB drive, this is probably the least expensive you're gonna find for now. Good bang-fer-yer-buck.
i have two of these in RAID. no problems after much much usage.
