So I guess that if the drive has been sitting on a shelf somewhere before being shipped for 6 months, you only get a warranty of 2 1/2 years? That's just not right.
They're all that way now, but some will allow you to use the sales slip as the start of warranty (if you can find it).
Having said that, check out the newegg user reviews of this thing. Not so terrific.
I have heard the word "deathstar" used.
I looked at the reviews #2,and yeah, it don't look that good. Also, someone was complaining that some of the "bad" reviews have been removed. Kinda fishy, if that stuff is going on at NewEgg just to sell product. Makes ya wonder if that is true.
All things considered, the WD 640GB SATA for $85 appears the best choice.
