I'm staying away from Hitachi. They don't stand behind their products. I bought a 55" HDTV from them. The "Light Engine" seems to be faulty but it doesn't manifest the problem until after the warrantee expiree.

They had me send in all kinds of documentation of the problem, registered mail, etc.

That was last November. No response. I called. They are still searching for my paper work. I filed a claim with the NY attorney general. Hitachi is ignoring that also.

There are enough other companies out there.
