    I paid $400 for this in early December after trying out the Asus and Acer pint sized offerings. I settled for the HP due to its sleek look and screen and excellent keyboard. No complaints with the unit. I dont need storage as have no plans to use this for more than a go anywhere with me device. The 16Gb SSD drive is plenty for my needs. If I need storage, I have other lappy's that have that covered.

    The only bitch I have is that there is no decent slim case for it. None offerred from HP and flea bay offerrings are way too large. I wanted a tight fit (don't we all) and ended up finding a Franklin slim planner using 5 1/2" X 8" pages that fit the netbook perfecty after I gutted it. For those looking for the same I found it off all places at Walmart.

    best of the crop Lenovo withstanding (did not try it) IMHO.

    Just picked up the Asus 1000HA (10", 160GB)...thanks for the deal, Ben. Agreed, it would never win any beauty contests (chubby little guy)...but it's got a great keyboard (ignoring the shift-key issue) and 6-7 hours on a 6-cell battery. That sold me, for sure.

    Also comes with a very nice, fitted velour carrying case. Tight?...don't think I'd call it that. But definitely not too loose.

    @matthew:

    ditto. picked my 1000ha up a few weeks ago. Not as pretty or sleek as some of the other offerings, but isn't a netbook all about being utilitarian? Can't see paying for a fashion statement in a netbook (VAIO P at ~ $1000...not so much.)

    that said, if you want a smallish bag that offers (a little bit of) extra storage, check out the crumpler moderate embarassment. it's pretty inconspicuous, and bulletproof. been commuting with it and the eee for a few weeks, and it works.

    i would get this for $150-200 even with HDD, maybe after cashback, other discounts, but not at this price. it's light, slim, nice keyboard, especially the right shift key. glossy screen may be a bad thing for some.
