I got a Gateway 7811FX, which has the same processor, same vid card, better screen, 4GB of DDR3 memory, Wireless-N, 9-cell battery for $625 a month ago. Therefore, NO THIS IS NOT A GOOD DEAL! If you want a good deal on a laptop I suggest going to different deal websites and looking there, Ben's deals on laptops suck ass. You are better off looking at the Best Buy Ad on Sunday's than looking at Ben's crappy deals. Basically, what Ben does, if he posts generic not so good deals by Dell, and HP and such because they tell him to and he gets paid by them to do so, so it's a conflict of interest on Ben's part. He is not here finding deals for you, he is here making money on sorry saps like yourself who will eat up any of the lousy deals he posts.

this is an example of when a product manager doesn't realize that they're not making a budget laptop and puts in a craptastic video setup for a massively huge screen.

at least go SLI if you're paying for an 18" LCD.

otherwise, this is really overpriced for someone who needs a large LCD because their eyes can't read smaller screens. Or someone who uses a lot of Excel.

Gateway P-7811fx uses 9800GTS, which is a much better card than 9600M. I bought mine brand new from Bestbuy and sold a refurb on eBay. If you're going to use this for gaming, get a Gateway.

This thing is so big, it looks thin (proportionally).

May as well carry your desktop (including a big ass CRT) around on a cart.
