This a good price for a very solid laptop. My only complaints about mine is that it's clearly not very portable, the keys require some effort to type on, and the glossy finish gets dirty too easily. Otherwise, the laptop is well-worth the investment.

Very good budget gaming laptop, if you don't want a Gateway FX Refurb (they pop up for ~700-750 every now and then on TigerDirect).

9600M GT is a reasonable video card for this price range. It will likely struggle to achieve high settings on 1080p for games...

That $400 one at officemax seems like a much better deal.

If you're looking for something that can do some decent gaming then the $400 one is NOT a better deal. You need at least a dedicated video card if you want to play anything remotely well.

HP consumer level laptops suck. Don't ask me about the DV9000 series that's been a thorn in my side.... along with a plethora of other models I've had the misfortune to encounter.

I almost got this one. I decided to get the HDX 18 instead. It cost a little more, but it had more on it. Yeah, It's big, but I don't plan on taking it ever where I go.
