I'm with #19, the MSI Wind definitely looks like a much better deal
I would not recommend this to anyone. It just does not compete. Even the model with the HDD is only 60GB vs the 120GB norm in these. Also, you need to go and look at one in person. The display is sub-par and washed out no matter how I tried to tweak the display controls. The ACER has a much better screen than these HP mini 1000's. Also, the key board feels clunky and cheap. This is my first hand experience BTW. I ended up with the Samsung NC-10. It was more money but is solid, compact, and well built.
gotta have more HD space
I thought I would be in heaven with the new ASUS about eight months ago before all of these competitors came out. It was great on portability but very hard on the eyes and fingers. I went with a used Vaio TX instead and am very happy with that. About the same weight but a REAL computer. It was around a thousand bucks, though.
Been wondering about these notebooks and the Atom processors in particular. Thanks for the info #1
netbook is on my list after my 12" notebook craps out
The Intel portable media CPU uses less power than the AMD. Intel did it right this time. Normally I'm pro AMD but this a really cool Intel CPU in this HP laptop.
talk about going full circle...i love the resurgence of this form factor--seems like every manufacturer offers one now
remember the NEC MobilePro 880 or Compaq's Aero 8000 or HP's Jornada 820?
Seems like a waste of money. Find an entry level laptop that is expandable for a few $$ more.
Late to the game and overpriced. However, 8GB SSD is more than enough if you use n-lite to remove the bloat from XP. Got my XP installed down to 2GB without removing features I actually use.
don't give HP your money....they are crooks
Rather give it to a crook than a bully.
I wonder what you can do with 8GB Hard drive? I'm a photographer and will fill up that 8GB in less than 15 minutes of shooting. >.< Makes a great internet PC though.
i like the trend but i'm waiting for the next gen sandisk ssds. supposedly faster, cheaper to produce and require less power.
Thanks Ben...always trying to screw us over:
