Would it be better to leave the cpu @ 2.4 and just crank the video card to a 9800gt/1gb instead?

A 64bit OS should have full driver support with just about anything that matters, with particularly old software and hardware you might run into problems though.

And in the future, programs will be coded to run optimally in 64 bit operating systems as they become the standard.

I bought one of these a few weeks ago. So far I am very pleased with it. I chose the 64-bit Vista OS and have yet to have an issue. The computer is quiet and the case is nice and shiny.

#14: After you enter your shipping information, click continue, it is in the second section of the payment screen.

I ordered mine on 12/2, built by 12/05, with blueray, titanium sound card, 4gig ram, 750gig HD, configured to $1150 -$400 +taxes... way better deal than Dell. I got a new 9500GT card from neweggs & may add some more ram down the road.
