Funny looking system. I swear you can build your own minus the case for ~$250 with the same exact specs. Maybe less

it wouldnt be hard to build this for under 250. most people dont want the hassle of putting it together and have a possibility of it not working.

also not this small. for a lot of people, the size is the issue here.

#3, people want to conveniently forget that part, or they will mention Linux which is good for about 2.5% of the population.

#6, why would you want to install XP on this? Vista is better than XP at this point.

on black friday, $420 would have bought you a s3600t with Intel E7200 (Wolfdale - 2.5GHz), 3 GB RAM, 500 GB HDD, Nvidia 9500 GS (512MB) and everything else the same.

      help!

Hi guys, i am looking for a PC (no monitor or extras) which will suit a gamer. I want to give him a good machine which will cost under 500 bucks.

      Any suggestions?

btw, he want to play a game called "fallout" and "Far cry"?

      Cynthia

#12 You can get a ps3 and both games for that price. A PC to play those games isnt worth it unless you spend more.

#11, add in a few more $$ for keyboard, mouse, DVDRW, internal cables... Plus I doubt you can get a nice compact case like this one.

#10, it's pretty quiet. I only notice it when it's absolutely silent in the room. I use it for hulu, divx and bluray :p It's pretty much the best looking HTPC case in my opinion. Stands about 12" high, 14" deep and 5" across, I think? Double check the dimensions, but it is pretty small.

#12, this isn't a gamer's pc. Mainly because it's tiny, so your upgrade options are limited. I'd take a look at the Dell Vostro 220 deal posted on this site.

The fan noise on this stupid thing is annoying. The BIOS controls fan noise too, depending on how hot it gets, it adjusts RPM. This might seem ok, but the fan noise pitch changes constantly when you are doing things. I'd rather just had a single speed fan that could be toned out by your head, or a silent/very quiet fan. BLAH to the video card too...that thing barely runs Aero. It shouldn't be worth of the Geforce 6 class name. A real Geforce 6 card would run rings around the integrated Geforce 6s. I'm not sure if this one has a PCIe slot to put in a decent card?

Stay away from HP and Costco. They take the money, but never deliver. I want my money back.
