Ends 10/19. Moofi.woot! has the refurbished HP Pavilion p7-1299 Quad-Core 10GB Desktop for $440 + $5 shipping = $445 shipped. Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit installed.
AMD A8-5500 Quad-Core 3.2GHz, 1TB HDD, 10GB RAM
AMD Radeon HD 7450 1GB, 802.11b/g/n, SuperMulti, USB 3.0
The A8-5500 is the new Trinity based APU, while I'd like to believe the HD 7450 can be set in Dual Graphics, I found this chart from Tom's saying it can't? AMD say's it not a recommend upgrade, but wouldn't you enable it maybe to check it out? If it can't sure 7450 (same as the 625Mhz 6450) on it's own is not super exciting, but still that... 10Gb ram, with 1Tb HDD fills it out nicely. At $445 I might, ever so might think even though a Refurb I'd chance it.
Wow, casecutter.. 14 people thought your comment was worthless. It wasn't exactly a DaveC treatise but I found it rather informative. Perhaps they were not able to get past the awkward grammar. Perhaps working in IT has made me more accepting of the English written word when authored by non-native speakers.
BTW, I am at a ~500 level. That number and some toilet paper can help me wipe my doughnut. Please mod me down as well so I can join my brother, casecutter. Thank you.
got the comparable hp p7-1235 at staples new with the 100$ off coupon from staples two weeks ago for $350. thanks ben! its a a8-5500 but with "only" 8gb.
Not a bad rig if you need to run multiple VMs.
