Good price for decent little tablet. I have a tx1200 and it is a good computer for a tablet.

I bought a tx2 and the multi-touch upgrade is not that useful. This is the best price of the season on this little laptop with an incredible array of features.

Battery life is well into the 2 hours on the 6 cell battery and the tablet functionality has really improved since previous generations. This has a passive and active touchscreen so the handwriting recognition is excellent and it is possible to browse with your fingers.

Wow, I held myself off the previous $700 deal. Now it comes the prize, $100 off.

I've been wanting one of these laptops. $600 is great. However they're dropping prices because the new TX2 model with the multi touch screen is out now. http://www.hp.com/united-states/campaigns/touchsmart/notebook/buy.html

The question is whether you were holding off for the price to drop or for a newer model with additional features.

If you were waiting for a price drop, it doesn't matter that a new model is out at a higher price.

I have the tx2 model with multi-touch and it really isn't that useful. The zoom works for IE, but no other browsers. The only other use I have found is in HP's integrated TouchSmart programs for zooming in or rotating pictures. I would rather have the extra $$ than these two uses.

S Got the tx2 for $780 after 40% off through microsoft live cashback but that deal did not work for 99% of the people who tried it.

It seems heavy for its screen size.

To get this deal I had to select HP Financing and enter the code there. It replaces the $200 discount already applied, so it really is the $400 discount, not $600 combined. If the two were combined I'd jump at this, but for now I'm just curious to see how it worked and it worked for me.

it's pretty cool but counts in the category of 'gadgetry' - as in not entirely useful!

My friend had this computer and it crapped out on him. HP customer service is not the best but I am typing this on a HP laptop.
