So many laptops, hard to pick one, some of us just want the best deal. I wish ben would list one that was a deal of a lifetime. If you were to buy a laptop today, which one you look at?

This one is the cheapest tablet convertable by about $600 and this is a good deal on it. Most common complaints are about the Turion processor being too hot and consuming too much battery power- but those are common complaints for most laptops.

The multi-touch was just released so not many reviews on it yet. There are some interesting youtube reviews though if you are OK spending the extra $450.

I got the 2000z for my wife last spring. Runs great. Excellent value for the buck for a tablet, no problems with it or Vista. I read the reviews on AMD's running hot and all, but this seems to run cooler than my Pentium M laptop. With the larger battery we're getting about 4 hours+ of running time. I've had tablets for 8 years now and this one is definitely the best. I'm hoping she'll return the favor and get me one too.

I just got my tx2 multitouch from HP's Black Friday deal. It's a nice machine with decent performance (2.1 turion) and vista is not too bad. I'm also very impressed with the tablet funcions which are much improved from the XP version that I tried out years ago. So far I have not been able to write a single word that it could not decipher as text correctly and it suggests alternatives (like t9) so even if one was wrong it would be a very quick correction.

One thing not mentioned is that these laptops (tx2500 included) have an active AND passive touchscreen so you can use your finger or the digital stylus that it comes with. Early versions (tx1000 series) only had the passive touchscreen like iphones and PPCs.

I got this 6 months back for $890. mine isnt multitouch but its a finger touch and stylus capable. So far i have no complaints. Infact it is very impressive. One huge problem i found was the heat it generates from the cpu. I think its common in all HP laptops. But what can I say even for the price i got, im finebacons a tablet!

Love the hands-on functionality of tablet PCs, but the small screen real estate coupled with the high price has kept me from it.
