What's the price on tablet PC's these days? I'm looking for a new laptop, and I would consider this, by the AMD chip is what bothers me. Anyone have any advice? I know it's small since it's a tablet, but I want something with a decent amount of power.

Again, remember to spend $50 to upgrade to 2.1G, the real PUMA tech CPU. I tested two of this models with 2.0G and 2.1 G CPU respectively, and the performance of 2.1 one is much better than 2.0G one.

No #3 it's not a "touchscrean" but it is a "touchscreen". Thanks for playing but game over for you...go back to the 8th grade and learn how to read.

#1, I just have this one for a month and I really love it. Very decent for this price. Small and fast, as well as the touchscreen is lovely.I am a fan of AMD, although it is still a little hotter than Intel mobile processors. PUMA is the reason for me to try this tablet. Very smooth for watching HD movies. However, for a tablet, it is still too heavy.

The coating they put on the tablet screen is annoying, makes things look blurry when compared to a standard glossy screen notebook.

#6 is right. I really don't like the mirror-like screen specially when you are using battery. I thought it was because it is a touchscreen but when I compared it with X61....

I have the TX-2000 which is the older model I guess. I bought it in May 2008. So far so good. I have the TL-60 which is plenty fast with Vista but I did upgrade to 4 GB of ram. The screen does not bother me so I guess this is a personal issue. I don't watch movies on it. It is also a bit heavy (about 4.4 lbs) and the battery does stick out from the back.

I got a TX-2000 from officedepot for about $750 with everything included, taxes, shipping, webcam, fingerprint reader. What I don't like about the HP TX tablets are no draft-N wireless card and a little too thick.

I bought the TX-2000. I upgraded to the 2.4 CPU with 3 gigs of ram. I uninstalled all bloatware and I still find Vista somewhat slow. The touch screen with your finger or pen works very well.

Over the weekend I installed Ubuntu 8.1 (dual boot) and I have to say the machine is now lightning fast. I do not have the touch screen working yet but people have reported getting this to work. This is my next project.

Spend $750 on a PC from eBay? With all the thieves and scammers and graymarket and non-authorized vendors? I don't think so. on the other hand, I did save 100 dollars on an automobile trim piece. But by the time I finished my research on the company, I was looking at a photograph of the factory in China where the part was made. LOL

i don't think it's 750 anymore, although 750 is a good price since it was running around 950 at the beginning of the summer. i don't really care for this tablet as it feels flimsy and is pretty thick. plus, an extended battery would raise the laptop up rather than just stick out the back. just go check it out in stores, if you really like it then you can purchase it. these are everywhere now, even in costco.

I got this in the beginning Sept for the 2ghz processor, 3 gb ram, and 150 gb hd for $700.

The things that do suck: Vista definitely slows it down; writing text (in to a search box) in tablet mode is much slower than typing in laptop mode (if anyone has a solution to this let me know), the screen does have considerable glare and while the horizontal view angle is fine the vertical angle quickly becomes too bright/gray.

Pros, this thing doesn't get as warm as people make it out to be (maybe my thighs/junk are numb from my last laptop), reading things in tablet mode can't be beat, the display although small fits everything (I kept an extra monitor around and haven't used it), it is pretty light at 4.4 lb (it could be lighter if you take out the dvd drive).

I have had such a good experience with this thing and would definitely buy it again.

Is the touch screen pressure sensitive?

The touch screen is probably capacitive e it senses whether or not your finger or something conducts. Or maybe something else entirely.

I suggest always going for the N type wireless adaptors mainly due to N's use of multiple antenna's improve signal quality and thus range.
