It is amazing how fast this stuff is obsolete... I remeber paying 5 times this amount for a 6 megapixel and it was deal then... For kid this would be a good first camera.
I used to have 4MP version of this camera (same styling) and I agree with #1 - worst camera ever.
I though this was 417.5MP camera for $39...
I owned this HP camera and Canon powershot780. HP is easier to use. Canon body is 35% thinner. I kept the HP inside my car for taking hit-and-run pictures.
