You gotta ask yourself if the monthly electric bill makes this worth your while. Those drives are pretty fast if you need a quick little DB box. Otherwise, a modern desktop might be a better deal in the long run.
and for those of you not familiar with DC grade gear, these things sound like a small jet engine. Even if you keep it in the basement you will hear it.
In my workplace, I'm actually retiring these dl360 g3's.

You can get these things for around this price at Computer Geeks everyday. I don't see the deal here.
G3 is a bit too old, you can get G4 on ebay for a bit more, G4 is still old, but they have raid build in and lilo feature, so if you want those function, could be a cheap alternative. G5 will be around $1000, the current g6 is a lot more even used on ebay. they are all loud, even the G6.
