Mini notebook does not come with DVD burner which adds weight and increase size. Installation of additional programs is done by using external DVD drive or USB thumb drives.

#3 where did you get the samsung nc10 for 339, if you don't mind me asking? I want to get a netbook. But am between this one, asus 1000he and the samsung nc10. I like the Asus because it offers a N draft and long life battery. The samsung just looks like it's built better.

I got th 1000HE and am pretty happy with it. It doesn't scream but it's fast enough to run office, VMWare workstation and photoshop. The only things I have seen where it chokes is on-line streaming video like netflix and hulu. I'll give that up for the long life battery and portability any day.

BTW, the 1000HE is dead easy to overclock using setfsb utility and streaming video becomes pretty good with few pauses but battyer life gets cut. I usually have videos stored so that's enough for me.

#6, you can put a 2GB stick in it. the onboard 512MB will automatically disable. then you can use the disabled 512MB as RAMDisk to boost up the speed a little.

#6, what flavor did you use for OSX (Kalyway, iatkos, retail DVD with a bootloader)? Anything other than the typical sleep problem not working?

just be aware osX(86) and apps are even more picky about minimum screen resolutions than other OS'es it seems. hands down, the HP 2140 has one of the best keyboards on a netbook, period. the trackpad is a bit gimpy tho.

You'll be missing the extra 24 vertical pixels if you settle for this 1024x576 screen.

1024x600 is too low still, here's to hoping more netbooks switch to 1280x800 in 11-12" screen size and a dual core atom.
