How are these touchsmart notebooks? It sounds like a nice concept to use and take notes but I'm wondering how good screen is.

I have one of these that I bought last black friday for 40% off and I paid $800 so I would jump all over this if I didn't have one already. It is a really cool laptop with tons of features. But because it is so cutting edge, it also has some issues. The most common complaints from forums I've read are:
      1) the fan is loud under the default config. Some can
      2) HP uses different types of multi-touch screens and some people complain that their screen is not as bright. Mine is very bright and very crisp.
      3) the multi-touch is limited to HP's touchsmart software plus the ability to zoom in IE. There is great potential for the multi-touch throughout the OS under Windows 7 and some prefer to wait.

i have the HP tx2500. Not multitouch, but active touch, which can differentiate between a pen and a finger. I use it in college to take notes, and it's AMAZING. But you will NEED the microsoft office ONENOTE software to make full use of it. Anyone who tell you touchscreen is useless, doesn't know how to use the software properly. If i didn't already have the tx2500,
(paid $700) i'd be all over this for $650.

      edit.
was testing, and i can't seem to get the coupon code to work tho
