why do you want to buy a bike that can't change gear? even if you live on the beach, there are slopes everywhere!

A good equipment for lifting exercise if you live on 3rd floor...
#1, on the beachfront, tourists who can't ride a bike and chew gum at the same time may try to ride one anyway. This makes it easier, safer for them as well as lowering maintenance costs or time. You don't need a bike that can change gears if it is geared low enough, (I mean they don't), it is just a built in speed limiter. Not everyone is trying to be johnny speed racer nor should they try to be if they're thinking about a bike like this.
Think back to your childhood, a lot of kids rode single speed BMX bikes without it being a problem. That doesn't make it the right choice for everyone, maybe not even most people who've ridden in the past 20 years, but if you don't care about speed and don't want to maintain it much a single speed is one way to cut cost and weight while increasing reliability.
Paint it red any you too can look like Pee-Wee Herman
