I believe an Atom netbook would give as good performance with better specs, for less money.

They fail to mention the screen resolution. Are these 1024x768 or 1280x1024 or 1440x1050 ?

1024x768 and 1400x1050 seem to have been offered, I'd imagine it's the former since the latter would've made it more valuable, they'd have been more likely to list that.

An Atom based netbook does not have as high a performance as a 1.5GHz Pentium M, nor does the 945 video perform as well as X300, though I'm not sure about X300 vs Ion, X300 probably faster due to discrete GPU memory.

Would be a good deal except we don't know what refurbished means, could've been used daily and half worn out by now and the size is a bit large for comparison against a netbook.

An ok deal. One lappy might be good. The other might not. It all depends on what you get and how hard it was used. As stated above. Rock solid notebooks.

"Please note these units are not new and will show signs of wear but function great. Battery holds a charge but there is no warranty on the battery."

      Function great my @ss.

This is not refurbished by manufacturer. This is simply an old thing.

They must have collected this thing from some Asia's dumpsters. This economy is real bad huh.

Surplus computers - a bunch of lying crooked thieves. Don't patronise them. Ask all your friends to boycott them. Until they restore their credibility, don't give them even a nickel of your business.

I have one of these and have issues with random crashes. They are flimsy creating issues with flexing and solder separating on the graphics card & motherboard. The latches are also cheaply made.

There is even a Youtube video on reheating/remelting the solder on the motherboard.

      Not worth it.

those are most probably off the corp lease item, I know someone in this business, they got a lot of those model lately. it's all depends on luck for those used things. I got x41 for $350, it happen to be a decent system, got extended battery with it and had about 3-4 hours with full charge. Normally they clean it up and put all the good parts together to sell for more money, since they got truck load of those systems for scrap price, so anything they can salvage, less labor will be their profit.

it's a used system, so give it a right expectation. if you can't handle that, better find something new, or a real refurbished item.

I should have known so many negatives about this company. My purchase was DOA. Ended up to pay for re-stock & shipping back fees. OUTCH!
