I bough this last time it went up on ben's. I had been planning on buying another one when it showed up, but now I don't know.

Will it work? Yes, it will work, you'll get 5v out of it - but i had trouble getting it to charge my cellphone (BlackJackII). It comes w/ a bunch of adapters, usb, etc.. So far all I've done with it is charge it with the AC adaptor and not solar because it says you need to do that the first two charges on AC to prolong the battery life, so it probably means they are using nicads. honestly, i bough the thing to take it apart, or use it to power lights on my bike. That's all it's good for - especially with weak amperage of 1350mAh. That means it can run an arduino for about 2 hours before it quits, or a bunch of LEDs. Forget about doing any real work with this (but what do you expect for $20?)

On the plus side it comes with an AC to USB adapter.

Not really a selling point since you can pick up an AC to USB adapter for cheap on deal extreme or monoprice.

Speaking of which, if you just plan on taking this one apart for lights on your bike then you might consider making your own (keep in mind that there is some danger here, so this is a big YMMV+):

Solder that stuff together and it might fit in an altoids box... and it also might catch fire and burn your house down.

I followed your Altoids box plans and did, in fact, burn my house down. But at least I had fresh breath!

    Thanks for the links Billy_bob,

I was actually looking for something that could charge li-ion batteries in a custom circuit, but without having to build it from scratch.

^my poor attempt at humor. Thanks again!
