Meritline has the IDE to SATA or SATA to IDE Adapter for $4 with free shipping. Compliant with serial ATA specification, One 4pin power connector, converts serial ATA to parallel ATA.
Sevial? Paraller? That sounds like wording from the bad Engrish translation on the worthless "instruction" sheet that come with these adapters. I bought two of these ..total junk ..threw everything away.
Years ago I read that map makers put "fake" streets on their maps to show when someone copies their stuff. I wonder if other bargsin sites do the same thing so when someone (Ben?) rips them off the errors are obvious.
I can't see what chip this uses... I know a lot of them have troubles working with Intel's ICH8+ chipsets.
Holy baconnaise, I am so behind the times:
"converts sevial ATA to paraller ATA."
Sevial? Paraller? When did these new formats come out? Why didn't I get the memo? They must be awesome.

I agree with #3. I've tried a lot of these and most don't work.
Thanks #3 & #4, You just save me $4.
$4 you just saved me from #3 and #4

I have this bought from Meritline, actually two of them and it's been working fine to convert ICH9 SB SATA to a PATA HDD.
The bridge chip is labeled SunplusIT, SPIF2223A.

If yours don't work, try changing bios to emulation mode for the SATA ports, and changing the drive jumper.
